Crowded Vol. 1 Review!

This is a series I've heard a lot of good things about over the past few years, so I was excited to finally read it.

It has a simple yet effective premise: "Ten minutes in the future, the world runs on an economy of job shares and apps, including Reapr: a crowdfunding platform to fund assassinations."

It's always a joy when a comic description grabs me immediately, and Crowded definitely did.

The story wastes no time in getting going, throwing you onto a fast paced thrill ride alongside main character Charlie. The art also conveys this really nicely. It's so dynamic, energetic and manages to carry the pace of the story so effectively, like I just alluded to. I loved the rich, vibrant delightful colors as well.

Despite that the characters of Charlie, her new much-needed bodyguard Vita and the concepts and ideas of this world never felt underdeveloped. It manages to maintain the breezy feel, whilst also giving nice frequent moments of building up the characters of Charlie, Vita, their growing dynamic and the concepts and ideas involved.

It feels compelling, exciting, and it was generally so fun.

I'm definitely excited to read the rest of the series when I can, to see where this goes, and I would recommend checking it out if you're interested!
